give an example of how you have taken ownership of your personal development or have encouraged and sup?

Posted by admin on Jan 31, 2010 under Personal Development

Please give an example of how you have taken ownership of your personal development or have

encouraged and supported the development of others. What was the situation? What did you do?

What was the outcome?

If anyone can help me with this question I’d be most grateful thanks.

I took my career in my hands. My life, especially my career was going nowhere. I had the qualification and talent, but still I was lagging behind. So, I just got a grip of my life and decided to change my whole working manner. Started putting in more hours and worked with goals in my mind.

The outcome is that I got two promotions and increments in less than 2 year :)

How much funding is provided to United States healthcare in preventive and healthy living programs?

Posted by admin on Jan 31, 2010 under Healthy Living

Just need to know numbers. I dont know where to find it. Ive googled everywhere. A reference would be AMAZING. How much money does the US spend informing the public of ways to prevent disease and live a healthier life?

The reason you can’t find anything is that you have misunderstood the terminology. I probably won’t answer your question, but let me just clarify below.

When you hear "preventive medicine", it may sound like it’s talking about informing people of living more healthily, but don’t be misleaded. Preventive medicine actually pertains to medical malpractice. It’s talking about preventing doctors from making mistakes in their practice. When you hear that 40% of all healthcare costs go to preventive medicine, it means that for every $100 a patient pays a hospital for a treatment, $40 goes to malpractice insurance. The reason that hospitals and doctors are losing money and that so much money goes to malpractice insurance is that doctors are being sued unreasonably and abusively. Depending on how persuasive a lawyer and his/her patient client is, an obsetrician/gynecologist can be sued as much as $10 million for a miscarriage. Among that $10 million, the patient probably gets to keep less than 30% of it. Most of it goes to the greedy lawyer. True, when a physician makes a mistake, he should be held accountable, but we don’t need the lawyer making multi-million dollor profits. This is why health care costs are so high. When hospitals are being essentially robbed by medical malpractice lawyers, patients ultimately have to pay the price, and unless we have tort reform, this will not get better. Unfortunately, everybody thinks doctors are rich, and people don’t care if a doctor gets sued a couple million bucks (the average MD in the US makes about $140,000 per year. Believe me, it’s not much for how much expensive training they go through, work they do, and how much they get sued.).

Back to your question about informing the public of ways to prevent disease and lie a healthier life. This is not the responsibility of the healthcare system. In fact, it would be ineffective for the healthcare system to do this. We rely on journalism and the media for things like this. This is the job of someone like Dr. Sanjay Gupta on CNN, for example. You can’t really throw money into getting something expressed in the media.

What are some good topics to research when trying to become organized, self control, resourceful and stylish.?

Posted by admin on Jan 31, 2010 under Self Help

So I need help with becoming clean and organized.
I need help in trying to gain control in my life. Knowing how to let people down easily without them getting hurt. I need how to stop procrastinating. self disciplined fashionable and all around comfortable with myself. So I was wondering is thee any books or topics I can research to help me get there??? I want to read about it!! lol

The self-help section in your local Barnes & Noble would work, but a simple book is not going to do the work for you.

If you really want discipline, then find someone who will make you get it. A martial arts teacher, a personal trainer, or a camp/school with a farm and workjob program (if you’re still school-age) will help you. Don’t pay wanting to change a bunch of lip service and flip through a book expecting it to help. It’ll give you strategies. Things to do. Without someone there to help, it would be extremely difficult to cultivate a sense of discipline.

Is there a good self-injury help line/hotline I can call?

Posted by admin on Jan 22, 2010 under Self Help

I have a strong urge to cut and I would like to talk to someone, but I don’t know any self-injury hotlines and talking to people I actually know is out of the question. I tried calling 1-800-DONT-CUT, but their robot just told me to go to their website. It was no help. If anyone could be of help, it would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Try 1-800-273-TALK
It is a hotline for anyone if they are suicidal or depressed.

Where do "Self-Help" books sell the best (What States) ?

Posted by admin on Jan 19, 2010 under Self Help

Do self-help books sell better in the Bible Belt, or on the coasts?
What American States make up the majority of self-help sales???

Many thanks, and Five Qabillion points for the best answer.

Probably in CA, because everyone here is so messed up. And I can call it screwed up because I’m a Cali girl, so that’s why!~*

Women Who Love Too Much.

If I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where’s the self-help section?"?

Posted by admin on Jan 15, 2010 under Self Help

Would it defeat the purpose if she told me where it was?

I suppose next you’d ask her to read the book to you…lmao

People should take advantage of their talents and skills and use them to create a product or service others will want. House cleaning, home repair (something in demand, by the way), child care, baking, even cooking meals–all could bring in extra money.

Natural remedies for psoriasis on nails and head?

Posted by admin on Jan 9, 2010 under Natural Remedies

I have had psoriasis on my thumb and forefinger since I’ve been 2, and I am looking for natural or OTC remedies to clear it up.

Hi, you can try one of the natural treatments for psoriasis from the Internet - some of them do actually work. For my psor. I use herbal cream by Champori quite successfully. It takes just a couple of weeks to clear the spots and they stay clear for months on end.
Try it: champori is available without prescription and comes with money back guarantee so if it doesn’t work for you - it’s free.
