Are the possibilities for self improvement endless?

Posted by admin on Feb 14, 2011 under Self Improvement

The human personality is in a constant state of change. The only constant in the universe is change. Does this mean that technically one is able to drastically alter their personality and way of seeing and perceiving and responding to the world? Most people stay relatively the same over long periods of time, but is this because their environmental triggers usually stay relatively the same over long periods of time?

No. They are not endless. Some things do not need improvement. Some things are exceedingly difficult. And the human life-span is limited.

Possibilities are limited by available resources and opportunities.

Are women on a self perpetuating self improvement tread mill that never ends?

Posted by admin on Dec 14, 2010 under Self Improvement

It seems to me that women are always working on some area of self improvement with in themselves. Isn’t this just setting women up for chronic personal dissatisfaction with themselves.

Some probably are. But you talk about self improvement as though it’s a bad thing. I think it’s a good thing to strive to be the best person you can. And seeking to improve yourself does not go hand in hand with discontent.

self improvement?

what are some of the things I should do to improve my self physically and mentally.

example:
physcal-teeth, skin,body, clothes, posture, nails.
mental-carefree, humble, good communicator, etc
Ok the things that i have listed is what I have already worked on, I need to expand my list

Your example is a lot to work on ALL at once…

Try one or two things at a time…small things. Sometimes when you start on something physical…it will then help some of the mental.

Once you get over a couple of small hurdles…then you go on to the more challenging things.

Skin…use a wash cloth in the shower…then lotion… Body…depends on what you are looking for…toning?…start with 10 sit-ups a night… There is so much that is so easy to start.

Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.

What novel/ self-improvement book would you recommend?

I’m a college student who is going through personal struggles. Most people don’t give me a chance voice my opinions nor do they listen. I’m so concerned about being judged and trying to always please others that I don’t know how to be myself anymore. I’m trying to be more confident and assertive. I need a book to read for the break that will help me understand that I can get past this and that I don’t have to have guilt & anxiety for fear of what people may think about me.

one I really liked is "how to win friends and influence other people"
It has been very useful in my life, Carnegies advice is useful in all endeavours, besides his motivation techniques are great too,

they have a review here… http://www.recommendedbookstoread.com/HowToWinFriendsandInfluencePeople.html

I particularly like his conflict resolution methods and negotiation strategies.

Is there any forums on the Internet for self-improvement?

Posted by admin on Aug 12, 2010 under Self Improvement

I want a Internet forum whether they are brutal and criticize you in every move that you make. Their harshness forces you to grow and improve your self.

How about positive affirmations?
