I need help, please!?! Self Harm Question? ?

Posted by admin on Feb 2, 2011 under Self Help

i know its a nasty habit… and many people will think its psychotic but i have been cutting since i was 11 and i am now 13; i really want to stop, but i don’t have enough will power to do it on my own… and i feel like i am losing everyone, so i don’t have very many people to talk to.

does any one have any good websites/forum sites?
anything i can use for support…

i need help trying to stop… because i am scared that now that things are getting worse… i might slip up worse.

It would be a good idea to talk to the guidance counselor at your school. You are feeling like things are getting worse. Reach out for help to someone that can either work with you or point you in the right direction. Cutting can cause a serious infection. I developed this infection several times. It needs to be treated with antibiotics. Please stay safe.

By your personal appearance, especially in college or in the work place. Dress and behave above the manner typically expected at your current level. When you start there, others will somehow elevate you in their minds, and the ball will begin to roll.

Would self tanning lotion help reduce the appearance of stretch marks?

Posted by admin on Jan 28, 2011 under Self Help

I have both white and pinkish stretch marks. My legs are fairly pale, not too pale but not tanned at all. I have two weeks to minimize the appreance of my stretch marks and i was just wondering if the tanning lotion would help. ive heard both yes and no. The tanning lotion i have is Jergens natural glow. Thanks in advance!

There are a few ways to do it, either you can use the DIY method or try those proven treatment creams out on the market.

Try to massage the area with the stretch marks about three or four times a day with moisturizers that contain cocoa butter or shea butter as a prime ingredient. This hydrates the skin, making it more pliant. Again, this is most effective only in the initial stage.

If your stretch marks are already pass the initial stage (when they are red, purple, pink, or brown, depending on the color of your skin) and become white or silver (usually with deep indentation), then it would be far more difficult to minimize them, but not entirely impossible to "remove" them. But before you begin searching for these treatments, try to read more information on these topical treatments first.

Many are advertised to "repair" stretch marks, but few have actually been proven to be effective. Here’s some that are available on the market:

a) Wheat germ oil - may help improve stretch marks in their early phase.

b) Glycolic acid - increases collagen production; can be administered in higher doses by a dermatologist (usually costs a few hundred bucks and requires a few visits before you see results)

c) Vitamin C - certain formulations might increase collagen production, but they’ll only help with early-stage stretch marks; for best results, combine with glycolic acid.

d) Relastin - the effectiveness of this product is unknown and unverified.

e) Peptide-containing products - these "repair" creams are ineffective; there’s no evidence that they work.

f) Retinoids - they’re fairly effective in increasing collagen and elastic production in the early stages, but they should be avoided if you’re pregnant or nursing; they’re more effective when used in combination with glycolic acid.

I would recommend treatments that are using "100% natural ingredients" such as aloe vera. Aloe vera has been shown in clinical studies to have a positive effect on wound healing and holds anti-inflammatory properties.

As stretch marks start out as microscopic tears in skin layers due to overstretching of the dermis, aloe vera helps heal these small wounds without causing scar tissue to form, effectively preventing the appearance of stretch marks. Aloe vera has been used for thousands of years by the Egyptians, Romans, Greeks, Arabs, Indians and Chinese to decrease the appearance of scars and to moisturize and heal skin. The extracts from the aloe leaf protects skin from environmental factors and promotes skin regeneration.

My friend recommended me this and I have been using for a few weeks now, have shown some positive results but I am monitoring the progress since the product have a 90 days return policy. For more details, you can check out the site below:

What natural remedies help with morning sickness?

Posted by admin on Jan 26, 2011 under Natural Remedies

I am about 9 weeks pregnant and have been hospitalized twice for sever morning sickness/dehydration. They’ve given me some pills to help, but they leave me tired and I can’t get out of bed most days. Are there any natural remedies, such as types of foods, juices, anything, that may help?

The most important thing right now is to stay hydrated. You really don’t want to be dehydrated, so drink as much as possible. Take small sips so as not to overwhelm your stomach. Water can sometimes hurt an empty stomach, so try ginger ale with the bubbles stirred out (carbonation can also hurt your stomach), powerade or gatorade, or juice, if you can manage it.

Other things that might work for you are popsicles or ices, and fruit–a lot of miserably pregnant women find that they CAN eat fruit, so try out different kinds if that appeals at all. For me, I found that I could eat (at different times) strawberries, grapefruit, and thinly sliced golden delicious apples. It was weirdly specific, but it kept me alive!

You might also want to try adding peanut butter to your crackers. Peanut butter has protein, which will make you feel better if you can keep it down.

You should try having very small "meals"–a bite of a cracker here and there when you can stomach it. A lot of people find that keeping crackers or something light next to their bed and taking a few bites before they even get out of bed in the morning. You will feel worse if your stomach is empty, so keeping food in it–even just a little bit–will help stave off the misery.

Good luck!

Self help strategies for SOCIAL ANXIETY DISORDER ?

Posted by admin on Jan 26, 2011 under Self Help

What are the Self help strategies for SOCIAL ANXIETY DISORDER ???? Any personal experience ??

Practice. Every time you go out smile and say Hi to a stranger. Anxiety does make people feel very confused at times. By selling Hi to people that you don’t have any connection to it doesn’t impact your life. At the same time it does give you practice in speaking to others.

There are many chances throughout your day to practice this.

I have anxiety also and I make sure to speak to someone every time I go out.

It does get easier as time goes by. Older people are good to practice with because a lot of them are lonely and they miss the times when people where more friendly.

How does or how will your work help you accept the treasure of true self?

Posted by admin on Jan 23, 2011 under Self Help

Can someone tell me what does this means? Thank you!

basically how can your work help you realize your inner and outer potential of who you are.

For example, I work with a lot of people on a daily basis. Eventually I learned that I enjoy helping solve people’s problems and making them happy. As a result of my work, I learned that I am a very enjoyable person to be around..and I love socializing ..

hope that helps.

My sister is a nasty skank that sleeps around. How can I help her learn self-respect?

Posted by admin on Jan 21, 2011 under Self Help

She would spread her legs for a hobo if he gave her a cigarette. I joked with her that we would have to bury her in a Y-shaped coffin although the humour was entirely lost on her. I don’t understand her. I wish she would start respecting herself and I wish there was something I could do to help her in this regard. She’s an adult though and has her own life to live I realise. This is mainly the reason I’ve stayed out of her business but it just seems to have gotten out of hand. Some of these men she sleeps with are beyond disgusting. Has anyone else tried to help a friend or family member with something like this? How did you go about it? Thanks.

The best thing you can do is have a 1 on 1 talk with your sister. (Sincerely one on one), and maybe get some help from social work.
